This course is designed for Quality Management System (QMS) Auditors and Lead Auditors who have been trained on the 1994 version of the ISO 9000 series and need to demonstrate training and skills in conducting assessments based on the new ISO 9000:2000 series in order to maintain certification. Individuals responsible for audit program administration, ISO 9000 internal audit team members, ISO Management Representatives, ISO 9000 implementation coordinators and anyone who will be in the role of performing internal or external auditors should attend.
This course covers all the new requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and provides refresher techniques to ensure you comply with the latest requirements and contains real-life examples & explanations.

Learning Goals
- Understand the purpose of a Quality Management System (QMS), including the Eight Principles.
- Understand the purpose and intent of the ISO 9001:2000 series of standards
- Understand the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and how it compares to the 1994 requirements
- Understand documentation required for ISO 9001:2000 and the "shalls" that can be excluded
- Understand how to plan and conduct an audit under ISO 90001:2000 requirements.
Workshops & Hands-On Experience
This course includes interactive workshops designed for the students to achieve the learning goals. Workshops may include 1) Review of the pre-course assignment; 2) Auditing an ISO 9001:2000 based Quality Manual; 3) Developing an audit plan; 4) Developing an audit checklist based on ISO 9001:2000; 5) Audit investigation techniques; and 6) Writing nonconformity statements to the ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
Successful Course Completion
A certificate of completion is provided to each student that a) meets course attendance and performance requirements, and b) demonstrates attainment of the learning goals by passing a written examination administered the last day of the course.

He works internationally by auditing organizations and can assist you with your ISO 9001:2000 transition plan or first time implementation project. Jim is able to perform actual RAB accredited ISO 9000 & QS-9000 registration assessments and award ISO certificates for several third party ISO 9000 Registrars. Jim has a MBA and a BS Engineering from the University of Michigan.
